Tiny, but charming, South Hampton has a population of about 800 residents in roughly eight square miles. Historic South Hampton, one of the first NH towns, still features a bucolic landscape and some impressive antique homes. The Town Center Historic District is remarkable for its late 18th and early 19th century houses and the Greek Revival grouping of Baptist Church, Barnard School, and Town Hall reflects the prosperity of the town in the 19th century. In addition, views of the agricultural landscape remain essentially unchanged capturing the community’s agricultural history.

South Hampton is part of the SAU 21 School District. Students attend the Bernard School in South Hampton grades k-8 and then move on to Winnacunnet High School in Hampton.

Quiet South Hampton is only minutes from great beaches in nearby Hampton and Seabrook. Conveniently located near Routes 95 and 1, South Hampton offers quick access to major commuter routes, a short drive to Portsmouth, NH, and less than an hour to Boston. With such a small population and landmass, South Hampton has a limited number of homes available and they range from stately antiques and large estates to family-sized contemporaries, colonials, capes, and ranches.
